Josep is an advisor, consultant, data scientist, entrepreneur and professor who has helped many companies to create competitive advantages based on data and algorithms. He believes that the combination of data, models, technology, research, ethics and experience is the ultimate blend to help organizations around the world to provide better services and create new products.

His expertise comprises technologies, methodologies and strategies and how they can be applied to solve business problems, improve decision-making, discover hidden insights, validate business hypotheses, and create data products and services. In addition to his consultancy, technology and advisory services in Responsible AI and Human-Centered AI through AthenaCore, he is founder of AEINAR (Asociación Española de Inteligencia Artificial Responsable). He complements his professional career with a passion for higher education being the Academic Director of the Master in Business Intelligence and Big Data Analytics (MIBA) at  Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), and Adjunct Professor at IE Business School, where he gives lectures about responsible AI, data science, data governance, big data and data-driven strategies for future managers and developers.

He is the author of many articles, academic notes and books related to his professional expertise. His know-how is the result of developing consultancy and research projects for multiple industries. His interests focus on the adoption, implementation and use of data strategies and their impact on organizations, processes, and people.

Born in Spain, lived in five countries and three continents, discovered more than 40 countries. He currently lives in Malaysia with his family.

Josep holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, an MSc (Hons) in Business Intelligence, and an MSc (Hons) in IT Management, as well as a top tier MBA. Josep aims to deeply understand how organizations are developing successful big data and data science strategies by conducting research in the field of Technology & Management as part of a PhD.
